Cassa Centrale Group's Biodiversity Oasis

Cassa Centrale Group's Biodiversity Oasis

Like bees, we work together every day to achieve our goals.
We are a Group of Cooperative Banks made up of people working in favour of communities, and we know that one's wealth depends on the well-being of all.

As a Cooperative Banking Group, we have put sustainability at the heart of our initiatives, since we are aware that the well-being of future generations is closely linked to the actions we take today and to the health of our planet.
We are committed to taking all the necessary measures to reduce the environmental impact of our activities.

In this spirit, we started a partnership with 3Bee, a nature tech company leader in protecting biodiversity through technology. 3Bee stands out for its concrete and measurable regeneration projects.

This partnership gave rise to the "Oases of the Cassa Centrale - Credito Cooperativo Italiano Group" project, which proves the Group's attention to the environment and biodiversity.

Together, we protect nature and take care of the future.

Today, the Biodiversity Oasis consists of 350 nectar plants and 12 biomonitoring hives.

Monitoring hives

The biomonitoring hives are equipped with 3Bee Hive-Tech technology, which allows the monitoring of environmental parameters useful to analyse the surrounding biodiversity and the health of pollinators, and to statistically monitor the health of over 3,600,000 bees.

They are located in the following Italian regions: Valle d'Aosta, Piedmont, Trentino-Alto Adige, Abruzzo, Lazio, Campania, Apulia, Basilicata, Liguria, Calabria, Marche, and Lombardy.

Nectar plants

The nectar plants will help feed 25,400 pollinating insects each year, thanks to the production of 127 kg of nectar (calculated over a 20-year average). All nectar plants are looked after by 3Bee growers, who are experts in species protection and care.

Nectar plants are hosted by the following Italian regions: Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, Umbria, Sicily, and Molise.
